Christine Duffy
A transplant to California from Ohio as a teenager, Christine has an appreciation of the seasons but cherishes the year-round outdoor lifestyle of Southern California. Upon graduating from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ornamental Horticulture Christine immediately began her career in Southern California.
Initially working with an Orange County interior plantscape firm and secondly with Village Nurseries, a local grower and wholesale/retail nursery, Christine built on her horticultural background and began exploring and discovering her favorite plant species for the Southern California home and landscape.
In 1999, Christine found a home with Molly Wood Jeremias and her growing landscape design business, Molly Wood Garden Design. It was here that Christine developed her love for the true art of landscape architecture and design. Working on over 500 residential and commercial contracts in Orange County and throughout Southern California, Christine produced planting, hardscape and lighting designs for outdoor spaces of every shape, size and budget.
During Christine’s twelve years with Molly Wood Garden Design the company grew from a two person studio into an award winning landscape design firm and retail store of nine plus employees. In addition to working one on one with individual homeowners, Christine collaborated with many local architects, engineers and interior designers during the design process, creating outdoor spaces in harmony with the site and the client’s style.
Watching these landscape designs come to life is a great reward. Christine worked in conjunction with builders, landscape contractors and many other specialist during the construction phase of projects as well as personally managing plant installations. This experience has given Christine a well rounded knowledge of the landscape industry.
Christine started Perennial Design to bring together her Horticultural knowledge, design aesthetic and project management skills to provide professional landscape design services for Southern California.
